New Carbon / Electric Classic Bay Racer

Based on Columbia’s Classic 5.5 meter – now modernized and fitted with inboard electric propulsion. It’s a true gentleman’s bay racer, with the convenience of silent running electric inboard power. Our prototype of this exciting boat has been turning heads all over Newport Harbor for the past couple of months! We have modernized the keel and rudder, and employ modern vacuum infused carbon fiber construction. This allows us to build a strong light structure and add inboard power without increasing the overall weight from the original Columbia 5.5 meter. The improvements and modern foils keep it out of the 5.5 meter class – it’s now in a class of its own! The boat comes complete with sails, trailer, running rigging, covers, even life jackets and dock lines!

Hull – Vacuum Resin Infused Carbon Fiber with PVC foam core.
Hull Finish – DuPont Marine urethane finish provides high gloss. It is easy to maintain
and extremely durable.
Deck – Vacuum Resin Infused Carbon Fiber with end grain balsa core with
monolithic/high density reinforcements in way of hardware mounting.
Deck Finish – White gelcoat base with light grey DuPont urethane nonskid.
Cockpit Sole – Traditional raw teak soles
