When we considered how best to reintroduce the world to Columbia
Yachts, we took a careful look at the state of sailing today. And we found something missing. There are some wonderful
boats on the market—boats that are quick
boats that are agile
boats that are comfortable
boats that
are comparatively inexpensive*—but to date no builder has delivered a vessel that successfully incorporates the
best of these elements for the sailing enthusiast.
The Columbia 30 is different
The Columbia 30 is a unique 30-foot Sport Yacht™ designed for club racing, buoy racing and pleasure sailing. Unlike others,
it will merge the three guiding principles of Columbia Yachts: high performance, high comfort and ease of use, and high
value.
If you’ve ever desired a sailboat with exceptional performance driven by design, materials and construction; comfort features that allow you to bring along family and friends; and the convenience of ease of use and easy transportation, you’ll want to learn more about the new Columbia 30.

30 Designers Comments [.pdf 424kb]
Designer Tim Kernan describes the special alignment that he has with Columbia Yachts, and with the Columbia 30 in particular: "When client Vince Valdes approached us to design a new 30' sport boat to mark the renaissance of the venerable Columbia marque, we were intrigued. The design brief depicted a kind of boat that really would be unique in the market. Moreover, many of us grew up sailing Columbias, so to be involved in the rebirth of the marque had a special appeal."
The new breed of Columbia delivers on the Columbia Yachts heritage. It was created with the experience and expertise of
the original Columbia founders and was crafted with a mind towards building on the reputation of one of the sailboat
industry's most respected marques, Columbia Yachts.
